The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has partnered with UNIBET to become its official sportsbook and betting partner for PFL Europe events in the United Kingdom and France for 2024 and 2025. This collaboration will officially commence with the PFL Europe Paris event, set to take place at the Accor Arena on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for the PFL, known for being the fastest-growing and most innovative sports league in MMA. The league has previously collaborated with UNIBET for the Paris event in 2023, which went on to become the largest MMA event broadcast in French television history.
James Frewin, Senior Vice President of International at PFL, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the shared values and synergies between PFL Europe and UNIBET. He emphasized the commitment to offering fans in the UK and France an exceptional gaming experience, leveraging UNIBET’s position as a leading sportsbook for mixed martial arts across Europe.
UNIBET, a prominent member of the Kindred Group that encompasses nine of Europe’s top online gambling brands, boasts a robust presence in combat sports in both France and the UK. The company also has partnerships with top football clubs in the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, along with involvement in prestigious horse racing events.
Neil Banbury, Kindred Group’s Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer, shared his excitement about the partnership, citing PFL’s rapid growth and potential as key factors in their decision to collaborate. Banbury looks forward to supporting PFL’s evolution and eagerly anticipates the commencement of their partnership.
The PFL distinguishes itself in the MMA arena with its sports-season format, which includes a regular season, playoffs, and championship bouts annually. The league, in collaboration with Bellator, features a roster where 30% of fighters are independently ranked in the top 25 of their weight classes, a figure that rivals the UFC’s. With a vision to expand globally, PFL is working on establishing the “Champions League of MMA” through initiatives like PFL Europe and PFL MENA, alongside other international leagues in development.
Innovation and technology are at the forefront of PFL’s approach, with its proprietary PFL SmartCage enhancing the fight experience through analytics, real-time betting, AI scoring, and a next-generation viewing experience. The league enjoys prime time coverage on ESPN/ESPN+ in the U.S. and is broadcast and streamed in 150 countries through 20 premium media distribution partners.
Since its inception in 2018, PFL has rapidly grown into a global MMA powerhouse, supported by major investors and embraced by a worldwide fanbase of 650 million. With its unique format and commitment to innovation, PFL continues to redefine the sports and entertainment landscape, promising an exciting future for fighters and fans alike.
