GBM Sports is expanding its footprint in the boxing world with an event scheduled for the Midlands. This is following a packed event in Sheffield that inaugurated in 2024. The forthcoming spectacle, “Ice Breaker,” will take place at the Skydome in Coventry on Saturday, 9th March, and will be broadcasted live and free of charge exclusively on talkSPORT.

After a sell-out at Sheffield’s Cannon Medical Arena, GBM Sports Promoter Izzy Asif is gearing up for another capacity crowd in this Midlands venture. Asif’s remarkable year saw him clinching a multi-fight broadcast deal with talkSPORT, enabling live streaming of events on their official YouTube Boxing Channel.

Newly signed Danny Quartermaine, boasting a perfect 10-0-0 record, is set to contend for the IBF European Title in his home region of the West Midlands. Quartermaine, a crowd-puller known for his dynamic fighting style and previously featured on Sky Sports. He faces Alex Rat (17-6-2), a challenging opponent with a history of demanding bouts, including a match that went the distance against WBO Global Super Featherweight Champion Archie Sharpe (24-0-0).

The event also features a highly anticipated bout between Midlands Lightweight Champion Scott Melvin (8-1-0) and the unbeaten Ameen Khalid (7-0-1) in a battle for both the title and local supremacy.

Bradley Goldsmith (9-0-0), an undefeated prospect from the renowned Ingle Gym, is set to fight in his hometown, continuing his journey towards global recognition. Meanwhile, Coventry’s own River Wilson-Bent (15-4-1) is aiming for a comeback in front of a home crowd, with a notable history of competing against top-tier athletes on platforms like BT Sport and DAZN.

Nyall Berry (9-0-0) is another unbeaten talent on the card, looking to extend his winning streak after impressing fans on Sky Sports during his last appearance.

Izzy Asif expressed his excitement for the March 9th event, highlighting the anticipation for showcasing top-tier boxing in the Midlands. The event, expected to draw a crowd of 3,500, will feature two title fights, a clash between two undefeated local talents for the Midlands Area title, and the debut of promising newcomers Ali Meesam, Roha Hudson, Todd Tompkins, and Adam Mohammed.
