Professional Fighters League Welcomes Top MMA Free Agent Ireland’s Paul Hughes with a Multi-Fight Exclusive Deal, the PFL is thrilled to confirm.
“I am absolutely ecstatic to sign with the PFL. The regular season format, in my eyes, is the ultimate form of MMA competition and is for the ultimate prize of one million dollars,” Paul Hughes (11-1) said. “I’m ready to prove that I am the best lightweight on the planet.”
“Professional Fighters League is always going to be in the mix when it comes to the free agency market and this was certainly the case with Paul Hughes, someone we have had our eye on for quite some time,” PFL CEO Peter Murray explained. “I’m looking forward to seeing Paul continue his journey with PFL in big fights that continue to test his skills.”
At just 27 years old, Hughes has achieved considerable success on the regional circuit, culminating in his status as a highly sought-after free agent courted by all major MMA organizations before opting for PFL. Formerly the Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion, Hughes recently transitioned to the Lightweight category and is currently riding a five-fight winning streak, with eight of his 11 professional wins ending in stoppages.
Hughes is set to debut soon in one of PFL’s most competitive divisions, bringing his top-tier talent to the league.
