During a media call Cedric Doumbe openly expressed dissatisfaction with officiant Marc Goddard from his prior bout. His unbeaten streak ended due to an unusual incident in his last match involving a splinter in his foot, which led to a TKO loss after the referee stopped the match.

Cedric Doumbe is back fighting in Paris on May 17 in the Bellator Champions Series at the Accor Arena.

Speaking to members of the media, Doumbe said of Goddard:

A splinter got in the cage last time. I hope it’s not gonna be Marc Goddard again as a referee. No splinters only hands in the cage. He was the referee in my first MMA fight in Dubai. I like him, but now I don’t like him anymore. This is not the first time he does this type of decision, you know.”

“Le Meilleur” Cedric Doumbe is set to compete again at the Accor Arena in Paris, aiming to achieve another knockout. Formerly a GLORY welterweight division kickboxing world champion, Doumbe is known for his powerful knockout ability, having secured all his title wins by KO/TKO.

Since moving to MMA in 2021, Doumbe had maintained a flawless record with five knockout wins, including an impressive nine-second victory, until his last bout.

Doumbe is now focused on moving past his last match and is targeting a victory against Jaleel Willis, a seasoned American fighter with several professional fights, in their upcoming bout on May 17 in Paris.

Cedric Doumbe said:

It’s all I can do. I’m a fighter. I was born to fight, I was born to knock people out, I was born to knock Jaleel Willis out, so I will do it. France is waiting for me, all the French proud, all the French people, even American people, they are waiting for me to knock him out. I will do what I do best, rip his head off, shut his mouth, and send him back to U. S.”

“I saw that the Jaleel Willis. He’s confident. That’s very good because all my opponents, they are all confident before they hit the first jab … And then he can visit Paris before the fight ’cause after the fight he will be in the hospital of Paris”

“It doesn’t matter who they put in front of me. I trained for the war. I trained to beat the opponent. So it doesn’t matter who is the guy in front of me. So even the one day before the fight, they can change, they can switch opponents. I don’t care.”
