Denis Puric has been announced as Takeru‘s opponent at ONE 173 in Japan. Many have stated that this is a solid matchup for Takeru, as the two strikers are known for all-out action; both are coming off hard losses in their respective fights.
Puric stated that he is looking to go to war with the former three-division champion, as the Bosnian menace stated in an interview.

Takeru has only taken the most brutal fights possible over the last few years. Facing off against Rodtang, Superlek, and Tenshin Nasukawa. With all of those fights taking a toll on the Japanese kickboxer, the same goes for Puric, who has faced off against Rodtang and Jousayai in both brutal affairs. The two are at a crossroads as both are in a do-or-die situation. As the loser is likely to retire, and with Takeru still seeking to become the ONE Flyweight kickboxing champion, this is a must-win fight for both Takeru and Denis Puric.
